Drinks, oils, gas cylinders or reusable containers: whenever a deposit is due, your customers should see it before they buy.
WooCommerce Bottle Deposit adds a new field “Bottle Deposit” to the general product data. Enter the amount there – for variable products you will find the same field in every variation. The deposit then appears after the regular price, followed by a suffix of your choice such as “plus deposit”.
Deposit in the cart and at checkout
In the cart, the deposit appears right below each item. If you prefer, the plugin shows one amount per cart item based on the quantity instead of each single deposit.
At checkout, the total deposit is added as a separate line and saved with the order. This also works for orders that you create or edit in the WooCommerce backend.
You decide where it appears
Switch the deposit display on or off separately for product pages, category pages and the cart. This way you keep your product grid clean and still show the deposit where it matters for the purchase decision.
Taxes on the deposit
Decide whether taxes are added to the deposit and which tax class is used – if you leave the field empty, the product’s default tax applies.
If your cart contains products with different tax rates, the plugin supports several tax rates. If all your deposits always use the same rate, you can switch this off. How deposits are taxed in your country is best clarified with your tax advisor.
Your own texts
Change the label for the deposit, the text for the total deposit in cart and checkout and the suffix after the price in the settings – no code needed. With WPML support switched on, the texts can be translated for every language of your shop.
